How does Volkswagen 4MOTION® all-wheel drive work?

Much like other AWD systems, VW 4MOTION® AWD transfers engine torque between the front and rear wheels of the vehicle depending on driving conditions. For instance, if the road is clear, the power will be delivered to the front wheels, and if the road is slick, torque can be transferred to the rear wheels.

Benefits of AWD

All-wheel drive has a few advantages for drivers to be aware of, many of which are tied to improved traction and performance in slick conditions. Other benefits include better weight distribution and enhanced off-road capability. If these advantages appeal to you, we encourage you to find a vehicle that has AWD.
